Potamos Beach is quite a way out of Malia town centre it can be found past Tropical Beach on the way to Malia Palace the archaeological site, it is a quiet, vast expanse of sand with very little natural shade, it is not a commercial beach so has plenty of space for games or just to enjoy the peace and quiet whilst relaxing in the sun. There is a small taverna called Kalyva Taverna near by where you can get something to eat and drink.
